Behind the Pops

Lisa Altmann is a free-spirited foodie with an irresistible drive to create a mean-tasting pop. She started experimenting casually with pop recipes in her own kitchen, and went pro in the summer of 2008. Viva Pops made their debut at the Little Italy Mercato, and you can meet Lisa there, selling her Viva Pops with her wonderful husband Jack and their adorable Brazilian ice cream cart, “Chiquita.” Viva Pops is right at home with other boutique food vendors and local farmers at the Mercato who supply Viva Pops with local and organic fruits and herbs. Since Viva Pops is a small, independently owned company it is easy to keep their roots and support local farmers and the community.

Viva Pops shops for much of their fruits and herbs from Sage Mountain, Sweet Tree Farm, Schaner Farm, and others all found at the Little Italy Mercato. Some of our other friends and favorites are Burning Sensations Salsa from BCG Foods, Knight Salumi, Peace Pies, Eclipse Chocolate, and Joe's on the Nose. Come visit us every Saturday from 9am - 1:30pm at the Little Italy Mercato.
